Mumbai traffic control receives hoax call about threat to employees at International airport

A person, traced to Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, called up the Mumbai Police traffic control and claimed a threat to the lives of employees working at the Mumbai International airport

Mumbai (Maharashtra): The Mumbai Police traffic control received a hoax call on Wednesday in which a caller claimed a threat to the lives of employees working at the Mumbai International airport, police said.

According to the police, the caller is a Lucknow resident. The police said they are in touch with Lucknow police and the accused will be brought to Mumbai, where a complaint has been lodged against the accused under IPC Sections 505(1)(b) (rumour with intent to cause, or which is likely to cause, fear or alarm to the public), 506(2) (criminal intimidation). Further investigation is underway.
