Dindori (Madhya Pradesh): A video of Dindori Collector asking a man caught spitting to clean it up with his hands has gone viral on social media. Though the video garnered support from netizens, it also drew some criticism against the collector's actions.
The incident took place on Tuesday when collector Ratnakar Jha was out on a surprise inspection of a government-run hospital in the town.
As the collector was passing through the parking area of the hospital during the inspection, he saw a young man arriving in a vehicle and spitting gutkha (betel quid is a chewing tobacco preparation made of crushed areca nut) on the ground. On seeing this, Jha expressed his annoyance and asked the man against doing so, especially at a hospital.
In the video, the man was seen wiping the spit off the ground after Jha asked for his name and directing him to clean the spit with his own hands.
