Budgam (Jammu and Kashmir): One unidentified militant was killed and another arrested following an encounter in the Mochwa area of Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Police said on Saturday. According to the police, the arrested militant had initially managed to flee during the gunfight.
"A militant who managed to flee from the gunfight site at Budgam's Chadoora area has been arrested at Khrew area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district," Vijay Kumar, IGP Kashmir, said.
He further said a pistol and a grenade have been recovered from the arrested militant, and the driver of the truck in which the militant was travelling, has been arrested. The security forces are present on the spot and further operations are underway.

On Friday evening, in a separate incident in the Union Territory, two people were injured in a blast that occurred in the Banihal area of Ramban district, according to the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
