Thane (Maharashtra): In a joint operation, squads of Maharashtra ATS and Uttar Pradesh ATS have arrested an accused, who is wanted in a counterfeit currency racket case registered at Lucknow police station in Uttar Pradesh, from the Mumbra area in Thane on Wednesday.
A reward of Rs 1 lakh was announced for the arrest of Abdul Razzaq Abdul Nabi Memon (40), who is a resident of Thakurpada near Roshni Mahal, Mumbra, Thane. Proceedings to take the accused to Uttar Pradesh continued till late Wednesday night (September 22).

According to police, the Uttar Pradesh ATS chief had contacted the Maharashtra ATS chief over the telephone seeking help in arresting the accused. Memon was booked under Sections 419, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120 (b) and 66 (d) of the IT Act.
The Uttar Pradesh ATS had received information that the accused Memon was residing in the Thakurpada area of Mumbra. It was then that the Maharashtra ATS had raided the accused's residence along with a team of the UP ATS and took him into custody.
