Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): A girl from a majority community residing in Dachhra Bhawan locality of the city, on Tuesday, approached the women's police station and lodged a complaint against a man from the minority community, for having trapped her in the name of love and for physical assault and abuse. In her complaint, the victim further said that the accused hide his real name and befriended her using a fake name, by introducing himself as a cloth merchant working at the VD Cloth Market.
The woman in her complaint also mentioned that she got to know about the real identity of the accused after a year and when she tried to end the relationship, he began harassing her and even threatened to kill her.
According to the victim, the accused is already married and father of a child.

Fed up with the accused's harassment, the woman with the help of her brother reached out to right-wing activists for assistance.
Ujjain police have booked the accused under Sections 376 and 506, based on a complaint by the victim. Following a detailed investigation, a case of Love Jihad will be registered, police added.
It is known that the Madhya Pradesh government had passed a 'Love Jihad' bill that penalizes religious conversion through marriage or any other fraudulent means and provides for a prison sentence of up to 10 years.
