Gandhinagar: Lakshmi Mittal, chairman of ArcelorMittal Group, and Dilip Uma, CEO of the Group, met Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and held discussions about the expansion of their Hazira-based plant.
During the meeting Friday, Mittal committed to invest an additional Rs 50,000 crore for the expansion of the Group's plant at Hazira in Surat. He also informed the Chief Minister that his group plans to invest Rs 50,000 crore in solar energy, wind energy and hydrogen gas generation in the coming days. He added that he is keen to invest a total of Rs 1 lakh crore in Gujarat in the coming days.
Responding positively, Chief Minister Rupani assured all necessary help from the state government and welcomed the investment.
