Bangalore: Bus services remain affected for the third day as Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) employees are on an indefinite strike over their demand for revision of salary.
A transport employee, Shivakumar Neelagar of Belgavi district committed suicide. The suicide was reported by Transport Minister and DCM Laxman Sawadi.

Another driver, Vasantha Ramadurga (48), attempted suicide by consuming poison and is currently undergoing treatment in GIMS hospital. He attempted suicide allegedly due to pressure from authorities to deliver duty.
A case was registered at Sandur police station as two accused hurled stones at KSRTC bus. The bus driven by Devendra Madiwala was obstructed by transport workers Shivakumar Kallahalli and Nagaraja. The two accused were arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
Further, the protesting employees expressed condolence for the driver who drove the KSTRC bus from Bellary to Guntukal. His picture was uploaded in social media with condolences and it has gone viral.

Public transport services employees corporations had announced the indefinite strike from April 7. Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) and North Eastern Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NEKRTC) and others also announced support for the strike.
