Kannur (Kerala): Two women have been arrested in Kannur District (Kerala) for alleged IS links. Shifa Harris and Misha Siddique were arrested by the officials of National Investigation Agency (NIA).
The women have been accused of creating a group—The Chronicle Foundation—in social media image sharing platform Instagram and allegedly disseminated content condoning the ISIS.
The NIA team arrested Shifa and Misha from Kannur city limits. Their accomplice Musad Anwar was earlier arrested.
Shifa and Siddique have been under the surveillance of NIA since March, officials said. Ameer Abdul Rahman, an individual believed to be the associated to the arrested women, was arrested in Mangalore on 4 August.
