Nehru Trophy Boat Race used to attract a huge number of foreign as well as domestic tourists to Kerala. Due to the Covid pandemic, the boat race was not conducted for the last two years.
Tourism minister PA Muhammed Riyas had held discussions in this regard with the experts concerned in an effort to revive the tourism sector in the state, which suffered huge losses following the pandemic.
The government believes that the boat race would help bring tourists back to Kerala and help the sector come out of its losses.
