Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala has enforced a strict lockdown in the wake of the second phase of the Covid-19 crisis. However, the Kerala government has announced a slew of relaxations, which will be applicable Friday, June 11. Shops including stationery, jewellery, textiles, opticals, book shops, etc can stay open from 11 June from 7 am to 7 pm. The latest lockdown relaxation comes in view of the government's decision to extend the statewide lockdown till June 16.

The government has also allowed vehicle showrooms to open from 7 am to 2 pm on Friday. However, sales and other operations are not permitted. Site engineers and supervisors working in the construction sector can also travel with their ID cards. Even banks can operate on Friday. Meanwhile, strict restrictions will continue to remain on Saturday (12 June) and Sunday (13 June). The rest of the days till June 16 will continue to have restrictions similar to 'triple lockdown'. Shops selling essential goods can open while restaurants can only operate home delivery services on the remaining days of lockdown.
