Jaipur: Police here arrested a youth after an 18-hour operation for raping a nine-year-old girl at the Kotkhawada area in the city Sunday night.
After receiving information around 10:30 pm that a youth named Kamlesh Meena has raped a minor, police formed multiple teams to ensure that the accused doesn't escape taking advantage of the crowd of REET candidates moving around.
Police first took the victim in a bleeding condition to the Kotkhawada community health centre for first aid. From there she was referred to Jaipur. Along with getting the girl's medical test done in Jaipur, her statement was taken by a magistrate. Her statement left everyone stunned. She said that she had gone to a nearby shop to buy a bidi for her grandfather around 7 pm that night. When she was returning from the shop, she met Kamlesh Meena on the way. The accused, on the pretext of taking her home, instead took her to an isolated place and raped her. After committing the crime, the accused escaped from the spot leaving the minor bleeding.

Moaning with pain, the minor reached her house in a bloody state and narrated the incident to the family members. The family members of the victim informed the police about the incident around 10:30 pm Sunday.
Police registered a case against the accused within six hours of getting all information.
DCP South Harendra Mahawar said that as soon as the police received information about the rape of a nine-year-old girl, seven special teams were formed to arrest the accused. A total of 150 police personnel were engaged in search of the accused Kamlesh Meena.
The police finally succeeded in arresting Kamlesh Meena who kept hiding while trying to leave the city, within 18 hours of the incident. After this, completing all the paperwork, police produced the accused at the judge's residence within just six hours of arresting him.
All police personnel who were involved in this operation will be rewarded.
