J&K: Parliamentary Standing Committee visits Anantnag

Jagdambika Pal, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Monday visited Anantnag in J&K and reviewed various development projects in the district.

Anantnag (Jammu and Kashmir): Jagdambika Pal, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Monday said that the central government would leave no stone unturned to bring development to Anantnag along with other parts of Jammu and Kashmir.

On Monday, members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Urban Development had visited Anantnag District. They visited the tourist destination Pahalgam and inspected the multi-level car park constructed under the AMRUT scheme in the town. Speaking on the occasion, Pal said that several projects have been completed in Anantnag town and they will be thrown open to the public soon.

The committee headed by BJP MP Jagdambika Pal is on a five-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh from August 20 to 25 to take stock of issues related to urban development and some welfare schemes in both the Union Territories.

On the first day of their visit, the committee comprising of 30 members had met officials of various departments and reviewed various projects sponsored by the Centre, which also include Srinagar and Jammu metro projects.
