JKBOSE employee first to retire under new law

The amended law permits retirement of government employees after completing 22 years of service or attaining the age of 48 years in the public interest.

Srinagar: After Jammu and Kashmir government amended civil service rules allowing the retirement of government employees at any time after completing 22 years of service or attaining the age of 48 years in the public interest, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education has ordered the first premature retirement.

The rules were amended last month. The official order has prematurely retired an orderly Fayaz Ahmad Siraj who has completed 27 years of service on October 14, 2020.

As per the order issued by JKBOSE Chairperson Veena Pandita, Siraj shall retire on the forenoon of December 1. In the order, the Chairman has stated that it is in the public interest.
