New Delhi: After senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Jitin Prasada joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of Union Minister Piyush Goyal, at the party headquarters in New Delhi on Wednesday, famous spiritual guru Acharya Pramod Krishnam said that it's hurting to see Jitin Prasada joining the BJP. Krishnam said that he is deeply saddened by Jitin Prasada's sudden exit from the Congress party.

"Jitin Prasada is a very good leader and he was very close to me," Acharya Pramod Krishnam said. He also stated that Congress had given great respect to Prasada and accused the BJP of trapping him. Expressing concern, Krishnam said that Jitin Prasada used to call BJP and Yogi government as anti-Brahmin until he was in Congress. Now he has changed the party and working for Brahmin's development will be a challenge for him, he added.

With most of the prominent leaders leaving Congress and joining the BJP, Krishnam said that the party is currently under crisis and if Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was given the chance to handle the party then big leaders would not have left and the situation would have turned positive. Meanwhile, after joining the BJP, Prasada thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah earlier in the day.
"I have a three-generation connection with Congress, so I took this important decision after a lot of deliberation. In the last 8-10 years I have felt that if there is one truly national party, it is BJP. Other parties are regional but this is a national party," Jitin Prasada said having joined the saffron party.
