New Delhi: Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) President KN Tripathi on Friday appealed to the state governments to provide employment to thousands of migrant labourers returning to their home states amid coronavirus induced lockdown.
He said that many have lost their jobs and their life has come to a standstill with no earnings.

On falling prey to Covid, they are unable to get cured following expensive treatments at the hospitals.
The INTUC President stated that governments should make arrangements to employ migrant workers according to their skills.
He said that migrant workers without ration cards were also getting free rations last year but this time the Centre has closed all the options to support them.

No money has been transferred to their accounts to help them in survival, he added.
Tripathi urged state governments not to leave migrants alone at the time of crisis and open employment opportunities for them so that they could overcome the tough times and feed their families.
"We are constantly receiving calls from migrant labourers from different regions asking for help. Please don't leave them alone. We are also helping them on our level," he asserted.
