New Delhi: Union Minister for Social justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale, on Tuesday, said farmers should hold talks with the government for amendments on the three agri laws instead of demanding the government to repeal them as it is not right for democracy.
Speaking at the curtain raiser of Global Organic Expo 2022, Athawale said, "The three farm laws brought by the government will help in increasing the income of farmers. They can sell their crops in any market and the farmers have no loss with these farm laws."
"Many farmer leaders have welcomed the new farm laws but many have also opposed this. Everyone has the right to protest in a democracy. The government is saying that it can do amendments in the laws wherever it is required. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar held discussions with farmers 11 times but they are only demanding to repeal it but that's not right for democracy," added Athawale.

"One can demand amendments, intimidating the government to repeal these farm laws is not right," the minister said.
Speaking further about the advantages of organic farming, Ramdas Athawale said that the experiment of organic farming is good and the crops grown through this medium help in increasing our life span. He said that those who want to work in the field of organic farming will get all the required help from the Agriculture Ministry.
