India records 44K new COVID-19 cases, 738 deaths

India reported 44,111 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours ending at 8 am on Saturday, according to data released by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry.

New Delhi: India reported 44,111 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours ending at 8 am on Saturday, according to data released by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry. The overall tally of COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 3,05,02,362. The COVID-19 death toll rose to 4,01,050 with 738 fresh fatalities. The country has 4,95,533 active cases presently.

According to the Union Health Ministry, a total of 57,477 people have been discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the total discharge to till date 2,96,05,779. The Health Ministry said that a total of 34,46,11,291 people have been vaccinated so far in the country under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
