COVID-19: India reports 34,703 cases in 24 hrs; lowest in 111 days

Single day rise of 34,703 COVID-19 infections, 553 fatalities push India's tally of cases to 3,06,19,932, death toll to 4,03,281, as per data released by Union Health Ministry.

Hyderabad: India reported 34,703 new cases in the last 24 hours, the lowest in 111 days, according to data released by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry on Tuesday. The overall tally of COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 3,06,19,932. The COVID-19 death toll rose to 4,03,281 with 553 fresh fatalities. The country's active cases have further declined to 4,64,357 with a recovery rate of 97.17 per cent.

According to the Union Health Ministry, a total of 51,864 people have been discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the total discharge to 2,97,52,294 till date. The Health Ministry said that a total of 35,75,53,612 people have been vaccinated so far in the country under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
