Hyderabad: A single-day rise of 41,965 Covid-19 infections, 460 fatalities push India's tally of cases to 3,28,10,845 and death toll to 4,39,020, as per the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The active caseload stands at 3,78,181 while the national recovery rate is currently at 97.51, according to the data updated at 8 am on Wednesday. The statistics show Kerala recorded 30,203 COVID19 cases and 115 deaths in the last 24 hours.
The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has increased to 3,19,93,644. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, 52,31,84,293 samples have been tested up to August 31 for COVID-19. Of these, 16,06,785 samples were tested on Tuesday.
The ministry said 65,41,13,508 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination programme. "Over 64.51 crore vaccine doses were provided to States and Union Territories till date. More than 5.21 crore balance and unutilised COVID vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered," an official released by the ministry on Wednesday said.
