Hyderabad: India reported 43,733 new cases in the last 24 hours, according to data released by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry at 8 am on Wednesday. The overall tally of COVID-19 cases in the country now stands at 3,06,63,665. The COVID-19 death toll rose to 4,04,211 with 930 fresh fatalities. The country's active cases have further declined to 4,59,920 with a recovery rate of 97.18 per cent.
According to the Union Health Ministry, a total of 47,240 people have been discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the total discharge to 2,97,99,534 till date. The Health Ministry said that a total of 36,13,23,548 people have been vaccinated so far in the country under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive. Also, 19,07,216 tests were conducted on Tuesday taking the total cumulative tests conducted so far for detection of COVID-19 in the country to 42,33,32,097.
