Covid-19: India logs 26,115 fresh cases, 252 deaths; active cases lowest in 184 days

India reported 26,115 new COVID-19 cases, 252 deaths and 34,469 recoveries in the last 24 hrs, as per the Union Health Ministry.

Hyderabad: A single-day rise of 26,115 infections and 252 fatalities pushed India's COVID-19 tally to 3,35,04,534 cases and 4,45,385 deaths, as per the Union Health Ministry.

The active caseload has declined to 3,09,575, the lowest in 184 days, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.75 per cent, the data showed. The daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.85 per cent.

The cumulative COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country under the nationwide vaccination drive have exceeded 81.85 crores (81,85,13,827), said the provisional report till 7 am on Tuesday. Over 96.46 lakh doses were administered in the last 24 hours, the report showed.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 3,27,49,574 with 34,469 being discharged on Monday.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, a total of 55,50,35,717 samples were tested up to September 20, of which 14,13,951 samples were tested on Monday.
