Hyderabad: A single-day spike of 32,906 COVID-19 infections, 2020 fatalities has pushed India's tally of cases to 3,09,07,282 death toll to 4,10,784, the data updated by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry at 8 am on Tuesday showed. Madhya Pradesh health department has added a 'backlog' of 1,478 COVID-19 deaths which resulted in a high death toll in a single day, reports said.
The country's active caseload have declined to 4,32,778. The recovery rate stands at 97.28 per cent. According to the Union Health Ministry, a total of 49,007 people have been discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the total discharge to 3,00,63,720 till date. The Ministry said that a total of 38,14,67,646 people have been vaccinated so far in the country under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 43,40,58,138 samples have been tested up to July 12 for Covid-19. Of these 17,40,325 samples were tested on Monday.
