Hyderabad: A single-day rise of 39,070 new infections, 491 fatalities push India's COVID-19 tally of cases to 3,19,34,455, death toll to 4,27,862, as per the data updated by the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry at 8 am on Sunday. India's active cases stand at 4,06,822. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 3,10,99,771.
According to the Union Health ministry, India’s cumulative COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 50.68 Cr. A total of 55,91,657 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 48,00,39,185 samples have been tested up to August 7. Of this, 17,22,221 samples were tested on Saturday.
More than 52.37 crores (52,37,50,890) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far, through all sources and a further 8,99,260 doses are in the pipeline, as per the Ministry.
