India administers 75 crore vaccination doses

India on Monday crossed a milestone in total vaccinations, administering 75 crore doses. According to government figures, a total of 75,02,84,569 people have so far been vaccinated.

New Delhi: India on Monday crossed a milestone in total vaccinations, administering 75 crore doses. According to government figures, a total of 75,02,84,569 people have so far been vaccinated.

Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Mansukh Mandaviya, attributed the success to the Prime Minister. Sharing the news, Mandaviya credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Sabka Saath, Sabka Prayas" campaign for the achievement.

The latest data issued by the Health Ministry shows that India has a total of 3,32,64,175 Covid-19 cases, out of which, 3,74,269 are active cases, and 4,42,874 people have died from the virus so far.

The recovery of 37,687 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3, 24, 47, 032.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 97.54%.

As part of the nationwide vaccination drive, the Government of India has been supporting the States and UTs by providing them Covid vaccines free of cost. In the new phase of the universalization of the Covid-19 vaccination drive, the Union Government will procure and supply 75% of the vaccines being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country to States and UTs.
