1, PM Modi to release financial assistance to over 6 lakh beneficiaries in UP under PMAY-G today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release financial assistance of around Rs 2,691 crores to 6.1 lakh beneficiaries in Uttar Pradesh under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana - Gramin (PMAY-G) on Wednesday at 12 noon via video conferencing. The assistance will include release of first installment to 5.30 lakh beneficiaries and second installment to 80,000 beneficiaries who have already availed first installment of assistance under PMAY-G, the Prime Minister's Office said.
2, Nadda to meet with party leaders, discuss preparations for Bengal polls
Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) president J P Nadda will hold a meeting at the party headquarters on Wednesday with the party's national general secretary and Bengal in-charge Kailash Vijayvargiya, and senior leaders of the state to discuss the party's preparations for the West Bengal Assembly elections.
Several union ministers will also attend the meeting.
3, Govt to hold next round of talks with farmers' unions today
The tenth round of talks between the Centre government and the representatives of farmer unions, which was earlier scheduled for January 19, will be held today in New Delhi.
4, India to start Covid vaccine exports from today
India will start exporting Covid-19 vaccines from today, paving the way for many mid and lower-income countries to get supplies of the easy-to-store Oxford/AstraZeneca drug, of which it said it plans to ship millions of doses within days.
