1. Agitating farmers call for 'Bharat Bandh' today
Farmers protesting against the Centre's agricultural sector laws have called a "Bharat Bandh" today after several rounds of talks with the government over the new farm laws remained inconclusive. Farmer unions on Friday decided to intensify their agitation against the farm laws calling for 'Bharat Bandh' today stating that they were not satisfied with amendments to the agricultural legislation being proposed by the government.
2. PM Modi to address India Mobile Congress 2020 virtually today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will deliver the inaugural address at the virtual India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2020 on Tuesday. IMC 2020 is being organised by the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI). It will be held from December 8-10, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said in a statement.
3. Kerala Local Body polls: 395 local bodies in 5 districts to vote in 1st phase today
The first phase of Kerala local body polls will begin Tuesday. The elections are being held in 6,910 wards in 395 local bodies in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Idukki districts. Voting is set to begin at 7 am and conclude at 6 pm.
