New Delhi: Maithili Thakur, a singer trained in classical and folk music interacting with ETV Bharat on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami said that she has decided to listen only to good music. She has sung songs in Hindi, Maithili, Marathi, Bhojpuri, Punjabi, Tamil, English and other Indic languages.
The viral singer and social media sensation said that she represents the middle class of the country, which has a lot of talent but have to face daily struggle in order to achieve recognition. She added that she was lucky to have a great music guru in the form of her father and also the presence of social media platforms. The 21-yr-old has more than one crore followers on social media.

Maithili Thakur gained immense popularity by posting hundreds of videos, along with her two brothers, Rishav and Ayachi. Rishav plays the tabla and Ayachi who is also a singer performs often on percussion as well.
ETV Bharat invited these young celebs of today's era on its platform, wherein Maithili and her Sangat troupe performed on the occasion of Janmashtami.

"Nowadays there are different types of music, but I have chosen the path of my father's instructions. I like to record good music, whether it is folk songs, bhajans or melodious songs, and that is what I am exactly following," Maithili said while referring to the interests of her and her brothers. She went on to say that though she and her siblings are different in their own ways, it is only the melody of music that binds them together.
