Nainital: In yet another incident of crime against women in the garb of triple talaq, a man in Uttarakhand identified as Mansoor Ali ended his 14-year marriage and gave triple talaq to his wife after she opposed his extramarital affairs.
The victim has filed a complaint against her husband and police have launched an investigation into the matter.
Ali had married the victim, a resident of Bengali colony about 14 years ago and the couple has two children aged 8-year-old daughter and 13-year-old son.
According to reports, there were issues within the family because of Ali's extramarital affairs to which his wife objected.
The victim in her complaint stated that her husband used to often beat her and the couple were engaged in frequent altercations. She stated that after she went to her parents' home after their fight, his husband came to her place and gave her triple talaq.

"Even before I could pronounce my decision, he fled from the house. There is a threat to my life," the woman said.
Kotwali police station's senior Sub-Inspector Rohtas Sagar said that a case has been registered against the husband on the complaint of the victim. The entire matter is being investigated.
The victim also stated that she had approached the women helpline team but her issue was not resolved.
The Supreme Court had earlier banned the controversial Islamic practice of instant divorce, terming it as arbitrary and unconstitutional.
