Ahmedabad: A key meeting of the legislature members of Gujarat BJP has started in the State capital to decide on the next chief minister.
Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi and Narendra Tomar are also attending the meeting.
BJP leader Nitin Patel name has been doing rounds as one among the next chief minister probables. Senior party functionaries in Ahmedabad said the man for the top job should be popular and accommodative.
Speaking to the media, Patel said the party high command will play a key role in deciding the Chief Minister of the State which will be going to the polls next year.
"There are rumors in the media that I will be made CM, but the fact is that BJP high command will decide on it," he said.
Meanwhile, caretaker Chief Minister Vijay Rupani reached the BJP office in Gandhinagar to attend the legislature party's meeting.
