Pali (Rajasthan): A woman who gave birth to a girl in mid-air in a flight from Bengaluru to Jaipur on March 17 with the help of a cabin crew and a doctor, has been roaming one hospital to another to get a birth certificate of the toddler.
According to the Indigo airline, the pregnant woman went into labour pain mid-air on the IndiGo flight 6E-469.
The flight staff announced for help if any doctor was travelling onboard. Subhana Nazir, posted at North Western Railway (NWR), came forward and assisted in delivery using medical aid available with the flight staff.
Jaipur airport was immediately informed to arrange for a doctor and an ambulance. The two were taken to a hospital after arrival and both are healthy.
However, the parents of the toddler is still visiting from one hospital to another for the birth certificate of the girl born mid-air.
According to Bhairo Singh, he had to travel with his 8-month pregnant wife on March 17 after taking advice from the doctor. He said that he made an emergency trip as his father health condition was not good. Meanwhile, the pregnant lady gave birth to a girl during the flight.
"That day, the airline had made special arrangements for us. We had visited a hospital just after landing at the airport. Ironically, no hospital agree to issue a birth certificate to my child", says Singh.
Earlier, when I contacted the airport authority to help in the matter, they agreed but now they are not taking my calls, lamented the father of the toddler.
