Deoband (Uttar Pradesh): National president of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind Maulana Syed Arshad Madani has said that the future will decide whether the Taliban are on the right path or not in Afghanistan.
"If the Taliban treat all people fairly and equally after forming a government in Afghanistan, the whole world will appreciate them and then we will stand by them," Madani told ETV Bharat at his residence here, adding that if there was injustice done by the Taliban, no one will support them in the future.
Maulana Arshad Madani underlined the fact that countries were run with a government that builds on reconciliation and love.
"The way to success in any country can only be paved by treating the majority and the minority living in the country equally and establishing mutual understanding and peace in the country," he said. "In any government, if people's dignity, life and property is safe, the government is appreciated by the world."

He denied reports suggestive of him being a Taliban supporter. "I have no opinion about the taliba. The future will decide what the world thinks of them. The opinion about them will be built on their management of the security, education, health and women's rights in their country," he said.
In response to a question, Maulana Arshad Madani said that it is also wrong to link the Taliban with Deoband because Taliban are actually influenced by the movement of Hazrat Shaikhul-Hind Maulana Mahmoodul Hassan Deobandi who started Reshmi Rumal (red handkercief) Movement for India's independence.
Hazrat Shaikh-ul-Hind's movement for the independence of India had reached Afghanistan where a large section joined it and worked to advance this movement.
"Just as we did not tolerate Britishers in India and our elders fought a great battle for it, the Taliban also did not tolerate the power of anyone else in their country and for that they were fighting," Maulana Arshad Madani said.

He said that these (Taliban) people are influenced by Shaikh-ul-Hind and his movement. Shaikh-ul-Hind was originally from Deoband and had fought a great battle for India's independence.
Maulana Arshad Madani said that although the real people who were running Shaikh-ul-Hind's movement are no longer existing in Afghanistan, those who educated them and revived his movement are among them (Taliban).
In reply to another question, he said that it is not correct to link any issue with Darul Uloom Deoband because it is an open book which conveys the message of peace and brotherhood to all over world.
"Everyone knows what we teach in Darul Uloom Deoband and the people of the government come and see it," he said. "Everyone knows what our lesson is. We only give the message of peace and brotherhood, even after that, anyone can come anytime if they want to cross check. The doors of Darul Uloom Deoband are open to all."
