'Filling work of Ram Mandir foundation to be completed by September'

General Secretary of Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust Champat Rai said that the foundation filling work of the Ram Mandir has started in Ayodhya. Retaining walls will be built inside the ground to prevent the effects of floods.

Ayodhya: The filling work of the Ram Temple foundation has begun after a two-day meeting of the Ram Temple Construction Committee ended on Sunday. Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust general secretary Champat Rai said that the filling work of Ram Temple foundation will be completed by September.

The foundation of the temple will be filled with multiple layers of cohesive material and the inspection process has been completed. There will be no major change in the layout of the temple.

The temple's base will be filled up with 44 layers of cohesive material with each being 300 mm in length. The layers will be compressed by running two kinds of rollers- 10 and 12 tons.

Rai said, "The construction committee will use simple and vibratory rollers. After each rolling process, the 300 mm layer will be compressed to around 250 mm."

"The Ram Temple will be built in about two and a half acres and a wall will be built around it, which is called Parkota. Retaining walls will be built inside the ground to prevent the effects of floods. This work will be completed in three years and with this preparation, we are doing all the work," Rai said.

Rai said, "The work of filling the foundation has been started earlier in the wake of the severity of the rain. This work will be completed by September."

Rai also said that adequate arrangements have been made inside and outside the temple premises and they have prepared a plan for it. The task of carrying out the construction work of Ram Temple has been given to Larsen and Toubro. The temple authorities reached out to millions of people across the nation to collect donation for the Ram Temple.
