New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha member Vijay Pal Singh Tomar on Tuesday claimed that farmers' protest has taken a political colour and farmers are no longer associated with it.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Tomar said from farmers' protest it has turned into 'political protest' now.
He also slammed the Opposition saying that it doesn't have anything to say that's why it opposes everything which is in the interest of the country.
"The BJP leaders are going to different parts of the country to spread awareness about the merits of newly enacted farm laws. Farmers of Uttar Pradesh and other states have benefitted greatly from this farm law," he added.
Tomar further said that farmers have shown their happiness over the farm laws as they will remove the intervention of middlemen.
"International funding and political moves are behind the farmers' movement in Haryana and Punjab," he alleged.
Hitting out at the Opposition over the toolkit row, he said that Congress has always stood with "anti-India" forces in their bid to attack the government.
