Jaipur (Rajasthan): Right from MLA to minister and chief minister everyone is unhappy in today's situation, the Union Minister said while addressing a seminar organized by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association in Rajasthan. He went on to elaborate said that an MLA is unhappy if he does not become a minister, a minister is unhappy if he doesn't get the right portfolio or cannot become the CM, while a CM is unhappy because he does not know when he will lose his post.
Sharing his experience, Gadkari said that he's content with what he has got and that it is the only way to deal with unhappiness. He also said that even when he was the National President of the BJP, he did not find any person or public representative who was not unhappy.
Gadkari also mentioned a poem by comedian Sharad Joshi during his speech saying, "The one who was not of any use to the state was sent to Delhi, the one who was not of use to Delhi was made the governor and the one who could not become the governor was made the ambassador."

The Union Minister said that the democracy of our country stands on four pillars, wherein the fourth pillar is that of parliamentary democracy and if it is strong then democracy will also remain strong.
"Politics is an undertaking of social and economic change. It is unfortunate that nowadays the meaning of politics is understood only by the power factor. He said that there can be differences of opinion in politics, but there should be no difference of opinion. Respect for one ideology by another is the soul of democracy," the Union Minister added.
