New Delhi: The Monsoon session of Parliament took off on a sour note as the Prime Minister of India was stopped in the middle from introducing the new Ministers, amid the uproar by the Opposition in the upper house. However, Congress tried to justify by claiming that BJP had done the same when it was in Opposition.
Congress MP Manish Tewari also tweeted, "This is untrue. The BJP never allowed Dr Manmohan Singh to introduce his Ministers time and again."
After the incident, Leader of House in Rajya Sabha, Piyush Goyal said to the media, "We condemn the manner in which Opposition MPs behaved on the first day of the session today. We saw a very unfortunate situation, both in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. In Rajya Sabha, the address of the Chairman was interrupted too."
While speaking over the matter, Congress MP Manickam Tagore said, "There are some friends who are saying that the Congress MPs disturbed PM Modi to introduce his council of ministers. I would like to tell them that in 2013 when Dr Manmohan Singh was there in the 15th Lok Sabha, BJP never allowed the former PM to introduce his council of Ministers."
Another Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi said, "Whose Parliament is this? Is it of PM Modi and his Ministers? No, this Parliament is of the country. Due to this, they ask for accountability from PM Modi on various issues."

"Today, hike in petrol and diesel prices has broken the back of a common man. Farmers who are sitting on a protest for months are seeking a reply from PM Modi. So, these are the issues that should have been addressed by the Prime Minister. But he only thinks about himself."
Congress Rajya Sabha MP Partap Singh Bajwa said, "We had given a notice to the Chairman of the House seeking a discussion on farmers protest. But we didn't get permission. Instead, we receive the information that PM Modi will introduce the new Ministers of his council. We all know the newly appointed ministers but who will raise the concerns of our farmers?"
Congress has been asking for discussion over the fuel price hike and farmers' protest in both the houses. Due to the ruckus, the Rajya Sabha has been adjourned till 11 am tomorrow.
