Jaipur: As the Ashok Gehlot government completed two challenging years in Rajasthan, ETV Bharat organised a debate to discuss its hits and misses. Rajasthan BJP Chief Satish Poonia, state Revenue Minister Harish Chaudhary, senior journalist Pratul Sinha, ETV Bharat's Rajasthan Bureau Chief Ashwini Pareek and Delhi state head Vishal Suryakanth participated in it to debate the achievements and failures of the Congress government in the state.
Promises made in Manifesto
The debate kicked off with the discussion on Gehlot government's promises made in its manifesto. The government has completed its 252 out of 501 promises and 173 of them are still in progress. Whereas, the government has been able to fulfil 85 per cent of its promises while the rest of them are still pending.
Pilot's rebellion and coronavirus outbreak
From the outbreak of coronavirus outbreak to the drift between Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former Deputy CM Sachin Pilot coming out in the open, the second year of the government was not a cakewalk.
Speaking on the issue, BJP leader Satish Poonia said, "Gehlot govt is trying to save itself rather than working for the people. On the other hand, Congress leader Harish Chaudhary said that BJP should work on its party issues rather than accusing opposition.
Commenting on the above leader's remarks, scribe Pratul Sinha said that both the parties are dealing with the internal feud, the brunt of which is faced by the audience.

Health infrastructure
The issue of grappling health infrastructure and death of infants in Kota's JK Lon Hospital was also raked up in the debate. Issues like Janata Clinic and treatment programmes were also discussed.
According to the promises made by the government, 100 clinics were supposed to be opened in Rajasthan but the number could not exceed 12. It was also decided that free treatment and medicines would be given to the people but neither the government nor the opposition had an answer to it.
Other issues discussed
Poonia also raised issues like waiving off farm loans, unemployment and strategies of the Gehlot government, adding that recently concluded panchayat and Zila Parishad elections clearly indicate that people do not want Congress govt in the state. Chaudhary admitted that Congress failed to put up an impressive performance in the polls but BJP did not gain anything significant from their loss.
Praful Sinha said, "The present government has challenges and we cannot expect much from it. Even the Central government has not reached out to the Rajasthan government and there has been no GST collection. The state is in crisis and govt also has to solve the infighting among the party leaders."
