New Delhi: The Ghaziabad Police on Saturday arrested an engineer for allegedly sending threatening messages to Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait.

The arrested person is Jitendra, an M Tech graduate and a resident of Janakpuri in South West Delhi. Jitendra has been booked under IPC Section 507 (criminal intimidation) and relevant sections of the IT Act at Kaushambi police station.

Earlier, in conversation with ETV Bharat, Tikait had said that the farmers' movement will continue till the farm laws are revoked.

Tikait had given a new dimension to the farmers' protest with the now popular slogan 'Zinda Hain To Delhi Aa Jao'.

"Once this Covid period gets over, this message will be communicated from village to village that if you want to stay alive and save land, then come to Delhi and agitate," he said.
