Guwahati: The Assam police seized heroin worth Rs 2.5 crore at Laharijan Police Patrolling point (PPP) in Karbi Anglong district on Friday night.
The drugs were seized by the Karbi Anglong police team from a bus bearing registration number MN-06B-1341 during the naka checking along the Assam-Nagaland border.
The team led by Sub Inspector Lutfur Rahman seized 339.16 grams of heroin from one Azad Khan(23). The drugs were concealed in 27 soap cases, police said.

A preliminary investigation has revealed that the drugs were carried from Manipur and were suppose to be delivered in Guwahati, they said.
The drugs were seized under the supervision of Bokajan Sub-Divisional Police Officer John Das, OC Dilai PS SI Bitupan Chutia and other officers.
