Delhi: Doctors across hospitals in severely COVID affected states are pleading for the restoration of optimum supply of oxygen. Many of them are pleading with the media while some hospitals have filed suits in court to force action on the part of the governments to restore oxygen supply. Some of the hospitals have even stopped the admission of patients in the hospital.
Sunil Saggar, CEO, Shanti Mukand Hospital in Delhi broke down as he spoke about oxygen crisis at the hospital. “We're hardly left with any Oxygen. We've requested doctors to discharge patients, whoever can be discharged...It (Oxygen) may last for 2 hrs or something," said Sunil Sagar.
Meanwhile, Kailash Hospital authorities in Noida say that they are left with Oxygen that will last only for a few more hours. "We've four hospitals in Gautam Buddh Nagar, all four are facing crisis. We've been told we'll receive supply after the next 36 hrs. We've stopped admissions," Group Medical Director, Dr Ritu Bohra said.
Earlier the Delhi deputy chief minister hit out at the centre over oxygen supply. “Many hospitals in Delhi are facing oxygen crisis right now. Oxygen is completely exhausted in some. I've been receiving messages & emails from hospitals since morning. We're somehow providing them cylinders by rearranging from other hospitals that have slightly more stock,” said Sisodia slamming the centre.
