DMK lawmaker resigns ahead of ruling alliance's litmus test in Puducherry

Dravida Munnetra Kazahagam (DMK) MLA from Puducherry's Thattanchavady constituency has resigned from the party. The resignation comes at a time when ally Congress is due to face a confidence motion in the Puducherry Assembly on Monday.

Puducherry: Venkatesan, Dravida Munnetra Kazahagam's (DMK) MLA in Puducherry from Thattanchavady constituency resigned today.

As the Puducherry Assembly heads towards a confidence motion tomorrow, now the Congress coalition's strength in the assembly down to 12 while opposition strength stands as 14.
