New Delhi: The Delhi High Court will hear Tuesday a petition seeking the removal of Zakir Khan as chairman of the Delhi Minorities Commission. A bench headed by Chief Justice DN Patel will hear the matter.
Earlier on July 14, the court had issued notices to the Delhi government and the Delhi Minorities Commission in this regard. The petition had been filed by Abdul Amir Amiro.
Advocate Hemant Chaudhary, appearing for the petitioner, said that the chairman of the Delhi Minorities Commission Zakir Khan had abused his powers and that he acted like an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) worker. In the petition, Zakir Khan has been accused of publicizing the policies of the Aam Aadmi Party and of actively taking part in AAP's political rallies.
