New Delhi: A woman from Afghanistan in her late thirties, living in the national capital Delhi, is getting death threats for divorcing her husband who is a Taliban fighter. Aadila (name changed), came to India in 2017 and living with her two daughters. She feels safe in India but has fear of being killed if she returns to Afghanistan as the Taliban has issued a death warrant against her. "The reason they mentioned my name in the death warrant is that I fled from the country with my two daughters. I left the country after getting to know that my husband was a Taliban fighter and has sold our two other daughters. Without mentioning the reason for my leaving the country, they just sent the papers to my family after which my father told me to never come back to Afghanistan as I will be killed by the Taliban"
Sharing her bad experiences with her husband, Aadila said, "My family members didn't know about him and I was married off at a very young age. My husband hit on my head, stabbed on my fingers and neck when I questioned him why he sold our daughters. "A few years back, I came to India with my mother for her medical treatment.

I love watching Bollywood movies and I gradually learnt Hindi. With the help of my family members, I somehow managed to flee from Afghanistan and decided to come to India. I feel safe in India but we fear that when we will be asked about our refugee cards then where will we go?" she added.
Speaking about her survival in India and working as a gym trainer in New Delhi, Aadila said, "I'm a mother, for the survival of my two children I'll do whatever I can.
I don't have anyone here, I only have Allah. I get Rs 10,000 as a gym trainer, which is very little to make both ends meet."
Aadila, also took part in the protest outside the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Delhi recently, demanding refugee cards as, without a valid card, she finds it difficult to get a room on rent.
She also said that her daughters are unable to get admission in schools for the lack of refugee cards adding that the Indian government has always been on their side, and is hopeful that they will be provided with the refugee cards.
