Haldwani: A 30-year-old COVID patient from Uttarakhand's Haldwani died due to alleged lack of drinking water on Thursday evening. The victim was undergoing treatment at Sushila Tiwari hospital and a video of her pleading for water has gone viral.
In a one-minute video, the victim can be heard saying, "I am admitted to Sushila Tiwari hospital in a COVID care ward. There is no clean drinking water in the hospital since last night. I appeal to people to donate water to us as early as possible and many people here are facing difficulties."

Reports of alleged medical negligence and apathy at Sushila Tiwari hospital has come to the fore after this incident came to light.
Hospital's Public Relations Officer (PRO) Aalok Upreti claimed that the authorities are providing four bottles of water to the patients. He also said that the woman died as her health condition deteriorated.
The hospital has been witnessing an upward trajectory in COVID deaths and has recorded 92 deaths in the last five days.

Uttarakhand has recorded 6,251 fresh COVID cases and 85 deaths in the past 24 hours. A total of 3,129 patients have been discharged.
