New Delhi: India reported 54,069 new COVID19 cases in the last 24 hours as on 8 am on Thursday, the Union Health Ministry said. In the same duration, 68,885 people recovered while 1,321 died, the ministry said on its website. The total number of COVID-19 cases stand at 3,00,82,778, of which 6,27,057 cases are active. As many as 2,90,63,740 people recovered. The death toll stands at 3,91,981.
After the vaccination drive was ramped up recently, 30,16,26,028 jabs have been administered so far. The recovery rate has increased to 96.61 per cent. The weekly positivity rate remains below 5% while the daily positivity rate is currently 2.91 per cent, the ministry said.
