COVID-19: India reports 42,640 cases, lowest in three months

On Monday, the country registered 42,640 new cases, the lowest in 91 days. In the last 24 hours, 1,167 people were reported dead

New Delhi: COVID-19 cases in India are declining with every passing day. On Monday, the country registered 42,640 new cases, the lowest in 91 days. In the last 24 hours, a total of 81,839 COVID-19 patients were discharged while the virus killed 1,167 people.

As on Monday night, the total cases registered in India stood at 2,99,77,861 while 2,89,26,038 patients were discharged. Since the pandemic struck the country, 3,89,302 died, the ministry stated on its website. Currently, India has 6,62,521 active cases. As many as 28,87,66,201 people have been vaccinated.
