New Delhi: India reported 26,964 new cases and 383 deaths in 24 hours ending 8 am on Wednesday, the Union Health Ministry said in a bulletin. With this, the total tally of active cases stands at 3,01,989, the lowest in 186 days. The death toll stands at 4,45,768. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease has surged to 3,27,83,741.
According to the health ministry, 55,67,54,282 samples have been tested till September 19 of which 15,92,395 were tested on Sunday. According to the ministry, more than 81.85 crore jabs have been administered so far, of which 96,46,778 people were inoculated on Tuesday.
