Raipur: Demanding BJP to give an account of donations collected for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said the saffron party must tell the nation about the funds collected till date.

Responding to a query over BJP MLA Brijmohan Agrawal's demand that the state government should donate Rs 101 crore for the Ram temple, he told reporters here that they should first give the account of the funds that they have collected since 1992 for the purpose.

"The BJP has made a business. It must first give an account of the collected funds," the chief minister was quoted as saying.

The BJP too has reacted sharply to the remarks of Baghel with Agrawal saying that the Congress does not have any right to seek an account as it has not made any contribution for the same.

"Let them make the contribution of rupees 101 crores and then they would be in a position to seek information," he said, adding that we would provide them detailed information to them.

Meanwhile, the BJP, just to ensure that all willing to contribute for the cause can donate, is planning to get in touch with 11 crore families to collect funds.

Chandkhuri village situated some 30 kilometres away from here, is considered the home town of Mata Kaushalya and keeping this in mind the VHP has announced that donations would be collected from every village of the state.
