New Delhi: Punjab Congress Chief Navjot Singh Sidhu held a meeting with party General Secretary Incharge KC Venugopal and state in-charge Harish Rawat, on Thursday, amid the ongoing turmoil within the state unit.
The meeting comes weeks after Sidhu tendered his resignation from the post of Punjab Congress Chief due to the uncomfortable truce between him and the Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi.
While addressing the media, Sidhu said, "I have placed my concerns before party high command. I have full trust that whatever party president, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi will decide, it will be in favour of Punjab and I'll also accept that. I consider them supreme and follow their orders."
In line with this, Harish Rawat, Punjab Congress in-charge, told media, "The decision is very clear that Sidhu should work as Punjab Congress President with full power and should establish the organizational set up there. Wait till tomorrow, you'll get a formal announcement."
The meeting was held at AICC headquarters and lasted for an hour. Before the meeting, Harish Rawat told the media that Sidhu and Channi have already spoken to each other and a solution will emerge. "There are some things that take time," he said.
