Congress appoints Urdu poet Imran Pratapgarhi as AICC minority dept chairman

Urdu poet Imran Pratapgarhi has been appointed as the chairman of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Minority Department.

New Delhi: The Congress party has appointed renowned poet Imran Pratapgarhi as the chairman of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Minority Department. Sources said Pratapgarhi has been appointed with immediate effect.

Pratapgarhi had contested in the last Lok Sabha polls from Muradabad in Uttar Pradesh but did not emerge victorious.

He has also been awarded the Yash Bharti Award for his poetry during the Samajwadi Party rule in Uttar Pradesh.
