Varanasi: Renowned Hindustani classical singer Pandit Rajan Mishra has died in St Stephen's Hospital in Delhi after suffering a heart attack. Awarded Padma Bhusan in 2007, the iconic classical singer was famous worldwide along with his brother Sajan Mishra. His demise is a huge loss to Hindustani classical music, especially the 'Banaras Gharana'.
ETV Bharat has a video of Pandit Rajan Mishra, in which he has appealed to the general public to follow Covid precautions, in a typical 'Banarasi style'. Unfortunately, he contracted the same infection and suffered a heart attack today.

Pandit Rajan Mishra has several accolades, including the Padma Bhusan and Sangeet Academy award. He has made a key contribution to 'Banaras Gharana' of Hindustani classical music. His native house in the famous Kabir Chowk of Varanasi is grief-stricken by his demise.
Amit Mishra, a relative of Pandit Rajan Mishra has confirmed the news of his demise. He has informed that the famed singer contracted the Covid infection and today, around afternoon suffered a heart attack, following which he was taken to St Stephen's Hospital. However, his condition deteriorated and he breathed his last in the evening.
